Children’s day is to celebrate “Childhood”.
Children’s day is celebrated in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister. The occasion was celebrated on 10th November this year with great splendor and grandeur at Mary Immaculate School. It was a fun filled day for students. The programme began with a prayer service and prayer dance followed by the significance of the day by Mrs. Bertha. The auditorium buzzed with excitement and joy as the beautifully dressed children applauded and enjoyed the various cultural programme put up by the teachers. The teachers showed their talents through a lazy dance embolding the real life situations faced by students and teachers alike, followed by a skit laying the importance on nature conservation. The power-packed dance fusion made the students too groove to the peppy numbers and the programme ended on an emotional note with a PowerPoint presentation consisting of collage of all the students.
Harshita S, the School Head Girl in her vote of thanks extended a heartfelt gratitude to Principal and teachers for putting up a lovely and meaningful programme. The emcee for the programme were Mrs. Monica Jennifer and Mrs. Clevin. Snacks and gifts were distributed to children in the classroom.
