The Mary Immaculate Alumni Association hosted its First Alumni General Body Meet in the school auditorium bringing together alumni of different batches, the retired teachers and the present teachers. It marked a historic milestone in the association’s and school’s journey.

The meet witnessed an impressive turnout with over 450 alumni from various batches, demonstrating the strong sense of community and nostalgia among the attendees. The attendees registered online and there were many on the spot registrations as well. The attendees were given a welcome kit beautifully designed by the Vice President Ar. Kavya Chandrashekar and Secretary Ar. Megha Shree.

The meeting began with a prayer dance followed by the lighting of the lamp by Sr. Celine Vera, the Joint Secretary of Mary Immaculate Institutions, Sr. Sevika the Headmistress of Mary Immaculate High School, Sr. Rosevera the Principal, Sr. Clare the School Administrator, Mrs. Philomene Manuel and Mrs. Kavya Chandrashekar. Mrs. Fahima the senior most teacher delivered a warm welcome note which was followed by a welcome song.

Mrs. Elisabeth Antony a retired teacher in her talk shared personal anecdotes about students who overcame significant challenges by remaining determined and committed. The teacher stressed that perseverance, even in the face of failure, is one of the most important qualities that can shape one’s success in life. The teacher urged the audience to always stay curious and be willing to embrace change, both in their careers and personal lives.

Sr. Rosevera the Principal, in her message warmly welcomed all alumni back to their alma mater. She expressed deep gratitude to the alumni for their overwhelming response to be a part of the meet. The Principal acknowledged the alumni's significant contributions in shaping the institution’s reputation and success. One of the key points in the address was the vital role that alumni play in the institution's ongoing development. The Principal noted that the alumni community serves as ambassadors of the institution’s values and is integral to its growth. Sister in the message appreciated the alumni like Mrs. Kavya Chandrashekar, Mrs. Megha Shree, Dr. Supriya D’Silva and Dr. Sheela J who have consistently supported the current student body by sharing their knowledge, offering career guidance, and helping students build professional networks. The Principal expressed appreciation for alumni who have contributed to the institution through donations and the establishment of scholarships, ensuring that deserving students have the opportunity to pursue their dreams. A shadow play bringing alive the school memories touched the hearts of all. The core committee members comprising of Sr. Rosevera the Principal as the President, Ar. Kavya Chandrashekar as the Vice President, Ar. Megha Shree as the Secretary, Mrs. Roshiny as the Treasurer, Mrs. Sapna Jaidev, Mrs. Ashwini Reddy and Dr. Sheela J as the prominent members were introduced to the audience.

The alumni speaker, Ar. Kavya Chandrashekar took the audience on a journey down memory lane, reminiscing about their time as a student. With humour and nostalgia, she shared anecdotes about the challenges and triumphs faced during their studies, memorable teachers and mentors who influenced their academic and personal growth, the friendships that were forged and the lasting bonds with peers that have endured beyond graduation. She highlighted how their time at the institution not only shaped their professional path but also provided foundational life lessons that continue to guide them today.

The Alumni Association presented to the school library classic books worth Rs.10, 000 catering to the primary, middle and high school students. They also contributed a seed fund of Rs.50,000 to the Mary Immaculate Alumni Association Fund.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Sapna Jaidev. The emcee of the day was Mrs. Ashwini G Reddy. The meeting adjourned with the joyful rendition of school song followed by group photographs and sumptuous lunch.
