On the occasion of the bi-centenary birth anniversary of Mother Veronica, September 16th was celebrated as "Gurunamana" for the retired teachers of Mary Immaculate Institutions with great zeal and gratitude. Each of them were welcomed with a stole and garland to the auditorium. The program began with a prayer service led by Sr. Sevika and Mrs. Lucia. A special prayer was held for teachers who have left for the heavenly abode and those incapacitated due to various illnesses.
Sr. Celine Vera, in her opening note, welcomed the superannuated teachers and appreciated them for their graceful presence. Rev Fr Peter Mascarenas, the guest of the day threw light on aging gracefully and to continue to spread the school motto of love and duty. A plethora of games were conducted, which definitely took the teachers back the memory lane, and they participated in full gusto. The day ended with a shadow play and dance depicting the life and accomplishments of Venerable Mother Veronica by the teachers of Mary Immaculate School. The emcee for the day was Sr. Vinitha Pinto. Sr Rosevera as the convenor of the program took immense trouble in contacting the retired teachers and organising the entire program which was a great success.
The day ended with a high tea and photo session.
