The staff and students of Mary Immaculate School celebrated Hindi Diwas as a mark of acknowledgement of Hindi as the national language. A special assembly entirely in hindi was organized by the students of std 5 to 7 under the able guidance of teachers Mrs. Fahima, Mrs. Bertha Rajan, Mrs. Anita Dhage, Mrs. Latha N, Mrs. Latha R and Mrs. Bhagyajyoti.
The celebration began with invoking God's blessings followed by the significance of the day by Safaa Muzamil in which she reiterated the importance of September 14th as a red letter day in the constitution of India when the language was officially adopted as the national language by the constituent assembly in the year 1949 though the first celebration was on 14th September 1953 under the then Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru.
The cultural program included a couple of melodious singing, poem recital and well choreographed dance depicting the beauty of the language. A hilarious nukkad natak spreading awareness on respecting teachers, elders and using presence of mind diligently with a fair share of humour, witty dialogues and quick movements enthralled the audience.
Principal, Sr Rosevera in her message appreciated the students and teachers for the program and urged everyone to feel proud of our national language as it helps in building a stronger nation.
