The Government of India launched “National Cancer Awareness Day” on the 7th of November 2014 as a flagship initiative to make people aware of the cancer screening process, eradication of stigmas related to cancer as a non-curable disease and spread message against the cancer-causing lifestyle.
A short program on prevention and early detection of cancer was conducted by the students of std 5 to educate the students on leading a healthy lifestyle to fight against cancer. A short prayer service invoking God’s blessings on cancer patients and cancer survivors were followed by an information loaded programme with slide show on different kinds of cancer, Madam Curie – a renowned physicist known for her pioneering work on cancer treatment and a mime show depicting how our lifestyle can make or break our lives.
Dr. Vinu Raj in his message educated the students on looking out for early signs in our body which can help us to detect cancer at the initial stage for better recovery and survival. Our principal, Sr. Rosevera in her message lauded the students and teachers for the wonderful programme and reiterated the importance of a balanced diet and physical exercise for a healthy body.
