Live Green Since There Is No Other Planet To Live On
The first World Environment Day was celebrated in 1974 with the theme “One Earth”. It took 47 years for us, humans, the supreme creation of God to realise the weightage of this theme and this year, the theme of World Environment Day is “Ecosystem Restoration.” As global, tech-savvy citizens of the 21st century, 2019 shook the very core of our selfish nature in the form of a pandemic.
When the global pandemic locked us down, Mother Earth began to heal herself: Skies got clearer, air lighter, water cleaner. Pollution reduced and health became better.
To celebrate this day, MIS conducted “Go Green Talent Hunt” for students from Std 1 to Std 10 in the form of various competitions like Drawing, Sketching, Collage Making, Poster Making, Slogan Writing etc and the winners and the participants were duly rewarded with e-certificates. Amanda Abreo of Std. 10 and Bindu R of Std 9 in their English and Kannada speech respectively restated the importance of nature and encouraged the students to do their part in conserving the ecosystem.
Our Principal, Sr. Rosevera in her message to the students, parents and staff reiterated the importance of ecological balance and reckoned everyone to contribute positively in maintaining this ecosystem for the betterment of human race.
This pandemic has given us the opportunity to Rethink, Reboot and Reimagine to improve our lives and our relationship with nature.
