Mrs. Shantha Mary and Mrs. Stella Alex having completed 36 years and 31 years of their selfless service to the institution were stepping on to the next phase of their life : Retirement. The Management and Staff of MIS welcomed the teachers and their families with open arms and floral shower.
The programme commenced with a beautiful praise and worship service led by the school choir. Mrs. Padma welcomed the august gathering. After lighting of the lamp ceremony, a video depicting the lives and works of the retired teachers was played. The students performed a dance on the theme “ Teachers are candles that ignite the lives of multitude through their knowledge.”
Mr.Vishwas, son of Mrs. Shantha Mary and Miss. Shilpa, daughter of Mrs. Stella Alex spoke about their experience of being children to Immaculite teachers. Rida Fathima and Deepti Sharma representing Old Immaculite Association voiced out their sentiments.
A short act depicting the role played by a teacher in inculcating moral values in the students was put up brilliantly by the students of Std 9. Teachers, Mrs. Shantha Mary and Mrs. Stella Alex with their optimism and love had an everlasting impact on the lives of many. Mrs. Maria Frederick and Mrs. Farzana spoke about the time they spent with the retiring teachers.
The teachers were duly felicitated by the Management, Staff, Students, Retired Teachers, Alumni and PTA members. Sr. Rosevera, the Principal and Sr. Ida Barboza, Joint Secretary Managing Committee, Mary Immaculate Institutions, in their message thanked the teachers for their invaluable services. Mrs. Shantha Mary and Mrs. Stella Alex expressed their sentiments.
The school choir sang a Farewell Song which was penned by Darshini Shree of STd 7 and composed by the school choir.
Mrs. Shirley proposed the Vote Of Thanks. The programme ended with a short video compilation expressing the emotions of the students and the teachers alike. The emcee for the programme was Mrs. Margaret Joseph. Lunch was served at the end of the programme.
