Since 1911, 8th March is celebrated as International Women’s Day to recognise the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. After a span of two years, our campus too geared up to celebrate the day.
The day began with a lovely prayer service by the students of Std 2 under the able guidance of Mrs. Maria Frederick. Students venerated Mother Mary, our patroness, Mother Veronica, the foundress and Mother Teresa for being the epitome of sacrifice, compassion, obedience and love.
Dr. Safiya, an alumni of MIS along with her team under the banner of Indian Dental Association gave an enriching talk on oral and personal hygiene. Student Prarthana of Std 7 proposed the Vote of Thanks.
Sr. Rosevera, our Principal, along with Sr. Clare, the School Administrator, Sr. Ranitha, Our Vice Principal and Sr. Bedsy greeted the teachers with a lovely flower and a bookmark. Sr. Rosevera in her message thanked the teachers for their selfless and commendable work and encouraged the teachers to be role models to their students by exhibiting punctuality, discipline, faithfulness and unbiased attitude. The teachers and support staff enjoyed the day with some lovely music and fruitful fellowship time. The male counterparts, felicitated the senior teachers, Mrs. Shantha Mary, Mrs. Maria Frederick and Mrs. Margaret Joseph with a bouquet.
As the theme of this year’s celebration is #BreakTheBias, may we too be instrumental in promoting equality.
