The school celebrated Peace Day / Martyrs’ Day January 30th 2020 to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, the epitome of peace and harmony on his 72nd death anniversary and to the countless soldiers of our country.
The programme was hosted by the students of class VII A, B and C diligently. The day began with an all faith prayer followed by a prayer dance and welcome dance.
Sr.Roseveera, our Principal, paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi by lighting the lamp and offering the flowers. The significance of the day was beautifully brought out by the students through a cultural programme. A skit was performed to convey the message of changing the world through non – violence, harmony, empathy and tolerance. Energetic dance performances, music and exhilarating actions captivated the audience.
Sr. Roseveera in her message extolled the virtues of Gandhiji and reiterated the students to imbibe the qualities of honesty, peace and non – violence to make the world a better place to live.
The students sang “Raghupati Raghava Raja Ram” melodiously during which they enacted the death scene of Mahatma Gandhi at the hands of NathuramGodse. Yuktha M in her speech glorified the martyrs without whose sacrifice we would not have been the citizens of free India and Vishaka Priya M. lauded the works of Gandhiji in her speech. The programme was compeered by Shreya Biradar and Bindu R. Afreen K. proposed the vote of thanks. The celebration ended with the singing of the National Anthem.
