Digital Generation, Our Generation
The United Nations General Assembly on December 19, 2011, adopted the resolution to declare October 11 as the International Day of the Girls Child in order to recognize girls’ rights and the unique challenges that the girls face all around the world.
Sadly even after 10 years since the adoption of the resolution, girls still face gender inequality not only in the work place, but even in their own homes.
A beautiful Sanskrit shloka says : नारी अस्य समाजस्य कुशलवास्तुकारा अस्ति meaning woman is the perfect architect of the society. Women is the progenitor of the universe but ironically she is still subjected to physical and mental abuse.
On the occasion of the World Girl Child Day, the students of MIS under the able guidance of teachers, Mrs. Parimala, Mrs. Aishwarya, Miss. Preethi Raj and Mrs. Febita put up a beautiful program highlighting the various problems faced by women and also the steps taken by the fairer sex for their emancipation.
The whole program was compiled, edited and uploaded on You Tube by Mrs. Shwetha.
